You may already read it in Guy's blog. The DB2 Magazine is now history and has been renamed to:
- Senior Editor Kim Moutsos: DB2 Magazine is now IBM Database Magazine
This is great news for the Informix community as the new name clearly reflects IBM's dual database strategy. The Informix Zone says thank you to all of you who advocated this important name change.
Things are improving. Take a look at the updated Informix@IBM article and see some of the changes that happened during the past 2 years. You may argue that those improvements evolve too slowly, but keep in mind it is the big ship IBM and it takes time to align the track.
Maybe we will see a real product marketing/advertising for our favorite data server in the foreseeable future. We all know that IBM's current non-product related marketing strategy is not efficient. Nothing seems to be impossible if all of you take every opportunity to advise IBM into the right direction. Give IBM your valuable feedback whenever you participate in a conference, roadshow or meeting with an IBM sales or marketing person. Your voice counts as it is the voice of the market !!
