An interesting survey held by the german Oracle user group (DOAG) shows undoubtedly the painful experience that most Oracle administrators experience every single day:

Oracles Product- und Service-Quality:

  • is improving: 6%
  • is getting worser: 57%
  • stays equal: 37%

More than the half of the survey participants believe that Oracles already poor service and product quality is further declining.

Hear Oracle DBA's talking about the product quality:

"The greatest challenge is to keep up with all the Oracle bugs and patch fixes. Even the current version of 10gR2 that we are on has a large number of bugs and issues. Keeping on top of these is a big challenge, considering that we have over 100 databases.”
